About

With live music and the concert industry on pause, touring professionals were not only going stir crazy at home, but also needed an income to support their families.  Country artist/hit songwriter Joe Denim is one of those musicians and decided to do something about it.  Building on his experience as a landscape architect in his former, pre-Nashville life, he launched Backstage Backyards, a new landscaping and exterior design company.

Backstage Backyards, based in Nashville TN employs entertainment industry touring professionals including set designers, carpenters, riggers, electricians, audio engineers, lighting specialists and more, all who have a background in carpentry/construction. The company not only provides high-quality craftsmanship and results for clients, it is putting musicians and their crews back to work.

“Until the live music industry pushes play again, we’re going back to our roots to provide for our families” explains Denim.  “Before I moved to Nashville to play music 17 years ago, I ran a very successful landscaping and exterior design company back in Ohio.  My road family and friends all have similar stories.  We grew up on farms, did construction and landscaping jobs... none of us are afraid of getting our hands dirty and we want to work.  With Backstage Backyards I can provide work and offset some of the financial burdens we musicians and our crews all face with this new uncertainty in the concert industry.”
